Tinariwen are a band of Tuareg soul rockers whose music is a hypnotic blend of electric blues and sounds from their homeland in the Southern Sahara desert. They have a growing and dedicated following, including Robert Plant and Bono from U2. Tinariwen's latest album, Imidiwan Companions, released in October of 2009, has received rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, and Pitchfork just to name a few. My favorite track off the album is Tahult In. It's been on constant replay in my iTunes for weeks now.
